The Ann Letitia Russell Rescue Group

Saving Fleetwoods Historic Lifeboat

Registered Charity No:1166752

About Us

The Ann Letitia Russell Rescue Group was formed after local man Jeff Jackson was reading the local newspaper and noticed a   story about the former Fleetwood Lifeboat being offered for restoration.

Jeff started a group page on Facebook and from there local interest was generated fast. Contact was made with Tolly Rodger the owner of the Ann Letitia Russell and within a few days her return to Fleetwood was secured.

On 13th May 2015 a public meeting was held at The Mount Hotel, a committee was formed and Jeff Jackson was voted in as Chairman of the group.

The estimated restoration cost of the former Fleetwood Lifeboat is £100,000 and a further estimated cost of £223,385 for the purchase of a building and to carry our building works to adapt the building in to a museum to display the Ann Letitia Russell and also fit out the museum to display the history of the Ann Letitia Russell and Fleetwood Lifeboats.
